![]() ![]() While Brook resurrected, the Fodder Goons under Zeo were freaking out. Soul Solid, sharpened by the Longarm Tribe, that is imbued with cold air from the land of the dead. So his skull slowly floated back into position.Īnd that sword he has… It is amazing. Turns out, as long as his bones are not destroyed, Brook can piece himself back together. His soul has such strong energy, it’s almost like a corporeal body. Even when my soul leaves my body, people can still see it. I can even draw them in to my illusions when I play. It enables me to rock a crowd of people better than anybody else when I play music. “When people die, their souls must go to the next world,” Brook said. “But my soul, in order to keep its existence in this world radiates a strong energy almost like other corporeal beings. I’ll bet Blackbeard would love to get his grubby mitts on it. We got to learn how Brook’s fruit works, which is always cool. I thought he’d just pick up his head, make a skeleton joke, whack it back on, Zeo would freak out and they’d continue the fight. Was more funny than shocking because I was ninety-five percent certain Brook wouldn’t die from something like that. Then Zeo pulled off Brook’s skull with a chain. His new technique: Body Sword Crusher had crumbled the tip of Brook’s sword. Of course, Zeo tried to spin it to his advantage. While invisible, Brook accidentally stabbed him (lol). What more could you ask for?Īs Brook was obviously wiping the floor with Zeo, the Fishman decided to make himself scarce. It had everything: new move reveals, humour, genuine character development, a hint of darkness and an achingly badass ending. This fight was understated cool for me, to the point it almost stole the spotlight from Luffy vs Hordy. My admiration for Brook just reached new heights. Just like Arlong before them.Īnd now we come to the Show Stealer. When faced with a crew who are genuinely strong, they get their asses handed to them. Despite Hyozou’s claims to be the best swordsman in Fishman Island, Zoro was not impressed. “You’re a big frog in a small pond.” I think that about sums up Hordy’s Goons. He used a new Purgatory Onigiri move (nice). Do you think he’s used some inspiration here?)) Also, isn’t Franky one of the only people alive who’ve looked at the Pluton blueprints? (Iceberg being the other). (This guy’s weapons alone should max out his bounty, seriously. Franky put down Ikaros with the, frankly awesome, Franky Radical Beam move. Sanji and Jimbei finished off the Sea Bonze guy too with a Vagabond Drill/ Hell Memories combo. Oh, and Chopper obviously made short work of the Big Goon with the hammer. And all of Usopp’s plant-based attacks seem to integrate to create a Mix-and-Match Traps style of fighting. The Impact Wolf with the bomb on its nose was pretty cool. That is how little you register on Usopp’s radar now. Usopp had a brief, “OMG NO, MY DEAREST FREN, WAT HAPPEN?” But Chopper gave him a giant thumbs up. “I’m okay, Usopp! I can control it for three minutes with a rumble ball.”ĭaruma complained that Usopp was talking to a friend while fighting. Before he would have said that as a bluff. Not least because his training has actually made him stronger. On the third step you take, you’ll get shot by me!” Usopp has really matured. Instead of freaking out and letting his low self-esteem ruin him, Usopp just smiled. “Don’t rush around so much, mole rat. The little shit tossed Usopp a comment that, in years gone by, would have shook him. “You’re weak compared to the others. ![]() Loved the whole lead up to the Monster Point reveal.ĭaruma (the little jaws guy) was hopping around like a cracked up frog, seemingly dodging every projectile Usopp sent his way. Wonder what the mysterious final form is? Super Saiyan Point? Super Saiyan God Point? Full Cowling 20% Point? The possibilities are endless. I also thought Monster Point was the last form he needed to use his rumble balls to attain. I always thought Chopper was a versatile fighter and if he could control Monster Point, he’d be a force to be reckoned with. This has been on my wishlist for years (ever since Chopper totally lost it in Enies Lobby). For now, it is Usopp and Chopper time! Monster Chopper? Is That You? Will talk about Brook and Luffy later, though. Maybe his ghostly charisma is so strong it broke the fourth wall and convinced Toei to let him have a moment. It’s just odd to let another character come so close to stealing the show. I like Brook a lot (and his new powers are awesome). But, near the end, Brook stole the show a little. As the main character, you would think Luffy would be allowed to hog the spotlight a bit. This was a weird episode in terms of fights. Number one rule of shounen: if those eyes are shaded to the point they cannot be seen, you either back up or get knocked out. 565-566: “Luffy’s All-out Attack! Red Hawk Blasts!” and “Coming to an End! the Final Decisive Battle Against Hordy!” ![]()
